FBLA High School Donation - Rainy B.
Grand Forks Subaru generously supported the Grand Forks Central FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter by helping fund our trip to the 2026 FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas! Their donation helped cover travel costs, making it possible for more students to attend and compete in business events after qualifying at the state level. This is the second year in a row that Grand Forks Subaru has supported our chapter, and we are so grateful for their continued generosity. Because of their support, we were able to represent our school, grow as leaders, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Grand Forks Subaru, for believing in our chapter and investing in our future!
Grand Forks Subaru Gives Love and Hope to Cancer Patients - Riley M.
On Monday, June 22, Blood Cancer United and Grand Forks Subaru had the pleasure of delivering 80 blankets and 30 patient care kits to Altru Health System as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program. These comforting gifts were accompanied by personalized messages of hope written by the customers and staff of Grand Forks Subaru. This incredible act of generosity was warmly received by staff and patients at Altru Health System. For patients affected by blood cancer, these thoughtful gifts will not only keep them warm during treatment, but remind them that they are not alone on this journey and their community is here to support them. Many thanks to everyone at Grand Forks Subaru and Altru Health System, not only for a memorable day, but for supporting Blood Cancer United's mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Drive Your Dreams: Love the Journey - Sara T.
Anything can happen once. But when something happens again, it becomes clear that it is more than a kind gesture. It is a commitment. For the second year in a row, Grand Forks Subaru has gone above and beyond to support the students of Community Alternative High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota, by donating a car to one of our graduating seniors who met the requirements set by our school. Matt and Michelle Bredemeier live the Subaru love promise, both in the dealership and in their personal lives. Their positivity, kindness, and eagerness to help a student receive transportation who might not otherwise have the opportunity is admirable. This year, their gift went to Grady Romig. When Grady first arrived at our school, his sister would often call and ask for help convincing him to leave her vehicle. Grady was struggling; he didn't believe in his own ability and he was battling other demons as well. During his time at Community HS, he became sober, a model student, and someone who encouraged others to be the best version of themselves: a far cry from the kid who wouldn't talk to anyone else in the building. We require all students to write a brief statement about what winning a car would mean to them and what stuck out from Grady's response wasn't how it would benefit his next steps in life, but the fact that he ended by saying "I know people in this school who definitely would be affected greater if they got it rather than me." His ability to empathize with others and put their needs ahead of his own are part of the reason why Grady was selected for this gift. At graduation, when Grady learned during the ceremony that he'd been selected for the car, the look of disbelief didn't leave his face. As he shook my hand and those of the Subaru team, his gratitude was impossible to miss. When Grand Forks Subaru gifted a car, they weren't not just giving a student a set of keys. They gave them the ability to keep a job, get to college or a trade program, and access opportunities that may have felt out of reach. Reliable transportation can mean freedom, stability, and a future with more options. A car opens up doors that a bicycle or even a bus isn't able to. Each year, Matt and Michelle show up, both in the dealership and in the community at large. We at Community Alternative High School are so thankful that they see the potential in our students, a group that hasn't typically found success in their previous school settings. In a world where so many see the past of others, the Bredemeiers see the potential of a positive future. Thanks to their generosity, not only does one student walk away with a car, but the potential of winning has pushed students to make positive choices, gain employment, earn driver's licenses, and more. It's not just about a car. It's about investing in the future of Grand Forks.
A Shared Mission: Driven by HEART - Nancy H.
On a crisp North Dakota morning, the showroom doors at Grand Forks Subaru opened not just to customers, but to possibility. What began as a partnership rooted in community support has grown into something far deeper: a shared commitment to HEART—Honesty, Empathy, Appreciation, Respect, and Trust—and to changing lives across the state. Special Olympics North Dakota (SOND) serves thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities, offering year-round sports training and competition in a wide range of Olympic-style sports. Beyond competition, SOND builds confidence, fosters inclusion, and creates opportunities for individuals to discover their strengths and abilities. Its mission—to provide opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy—aligns seamlessly with the values that define Grand Forks Subaru. **Honesty** is at the core of both organizations. At SOND events, there is no pretense—athletes show up exactly as they are, giving their best effort every single time. Grand Forks Subaru brings that same authenticity to its partnership, openly supporting the mission and sharing the stories of athletes with customers and the broader community. Together, they foster a transparent commitment to making a real difference. **Empathy** is perhaps the most powerful bridge between us. Subaru is known for its community-first mindset, and in North Dakota, that translates into understanding the unique challenges faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through volunteerism, sponsorships, and event participation, the Grand Forks Subaru team connects personally with those in the community—listening, learning, and standing beside them. **Appreciation** flows both ways in this partnership. Athletes light up when community partners show up to cheer them on, while the Subaru team finds inspiration in the determination and joy of those they support. Whether it's a state competition, a local fundraiser, or a unified sports event, there's a shared gratitude that makes every interaction meaningful. **Respect** is foundational to Special Olympics North Dakota's culture. Every athlete is valued, every effort is celebrated, and everyone belongs. Grand Forks Subaru amplifies that message by ensuring inclusion is visible, active, and celebrated in the broader community. Their support signals that people of all abilities deserve recognition, opportunity, and a place to thrive. And finally, **Trust** binds it all together. Over time, SOND has come to rely on partners like Grand Forks Subaru not just for financial support, but for advocacy and consistency. In return, Subaru trusts SOND to carry forward a mission that genuinely transforms lives. This mutual trust creates a sustainable partnership—one that goes beyond transactions to build a stronger, more inclusive North Dakota. The impact of this partnership is felt far beyond events and donations. It shows up in first-time athletes step onto the field with confidence, in families finding a supportive community, and in volunteers discovering purpose. It demonstrates what can happen when a business doesn't just operate in a community, but truly invests in it. Together, Grand Forks Subaru and Special Olympics North Dakota are proving that when HEART guides action, the result is more than support—it's transformation.
Operation Warm with United Way of Grand Forks - Nancy O.
The United Way of Grand Forks provides services to families and children all over our region. One of these services is being able to distribute free clothing that has been donated by community members. The need for this increases drastically in the winter months as we very frequently hit below 0 temperatures. Coats are essential for all and it can be very hard to get these donated during this time. Grand Forks Subaru's Operation Warm steps up in a big way by providing boxes of brand-new coats, shoes, and socks to children in urgent need in our local community. This donation has helped get these critical items to hundreds of children. and we are so grateful to have such an amazing community partner in Grand Forks Subaru!
Grand Forks Central DECA - Hannah F.
Grand Forks Central DECA is excited to be sending 24 students to Atlanta, Georgia this April to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC). DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs interested in careers in marketing, hospitality, management, and finance. At the international conference, Grand Forks Central students will compete in a variety of events, including community awareness projects, community service initiatives, sales presentations, and corporate social responsibility campaigns. This incredible opportunity would not be possible without the generous support of our industry partner, Subaru, whose Silver-Level Sponsorship is helping make this trip a reality. Their donation will directly assist with transportation and travel expenses, helping ensure our students can represent Grand Forks Central on the international stage. We are extremely grateful for Subaru's partnership and commitment to supporting student success and future business leaders.

Driving Hope Forward - Sean P.
For more than five years, Grand Forks Subaru has faithfully supported the local chapter of Youth For Christ—helping make a lasting difference in the lives of teens across our community. Because of their generosity, young people ages 11–19 are finding hope, purpose, and belonging. From before- and after-school programs to ministry inside the Juvenile Detention Center, from summer camping and backpacking experiences to meaningful service projects, their support is creating spaces where teens are seen, known, and transformed. Grand Forks Subaru isn't just investing in programs—they're investing in people. Their commitment is helping shape the next generation and making our community a stronger, healthier place for families to grow and thrive. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and their shared vision to make Grand Forks a place where every young person has the opportunity to experience hope and a brighter future.
Leadership Investment - Tate T.
At UND FCA, we strive to invest in our student leaders so they, in turn, can invest in their teams and teammates. One of the ways we do this is through a monthly leadership lunch, where students engage in leadership topics led by FCA staff and local community leaders. We love hosting these lunches at businesses throughout the community, and since GF Subaru has been a longtime friend of FCA and a leader in Grand Forks, their new location was a natural fit. GF Subaru was incredibly welcoming and hospitable to our student-athletes and guest speaker, and we are grateful for their partnership. We look forward to returning for another leadership lunch in the future.
Thank you for giving back! - Scott J.
During this Holiday season, we were so happy to have the GF Subaru team to our facility in East Grand Forks. They generously donated their time to help pack food for children in our Backpack Program. It was great working alongside and getting to know you all! With so much need out there, it's wonderful knowing there's people and businesses like you who care and give so much back to the community. We can't thank you enough! - North Country Food Bank
Salvation Army Angel Tree - Michelle B.
Grand Forks Subaru partnered with Salvation Army of Grand Forks to collect Christmas gifts for local children in need. The angel tree was displayed in the showroom at Grand Forks Subaru. Thank you to employees, customers, and the public for donating enough Christmas gifts to fill up an entire Subaru Ascent! The Salvation Army of Grand Forks provides enough gifts for 2,000 children=525 families, and each family also receives a food basket. Grand Forks Subaru loves giving back to our community!
Subaru Loves Pets - Megan P.
During the mont of October Grand Forks Subaru was kind enough to feature our rescue's underdogs on their social media and then hosted an adoption event at their new store! We had a great afternoon with lots of adoption interest and love for our dogs that attended. A few dogs received applications for adoption and a few people signed up to help volunteer. We are so thankful for this great partnership and appreciate Grand Forks Subaru supporting Journey Home Animal Rescue!
Subaru Adopt A Classroom Phoenix Elementary School - Kevin O.
On behalf of Phoenix Elementary School's students, parents, and staff I would like to say "Thanks" to Subaru and our local Subaru dealership for supporting education. Our teachers have received $500 to use toward supplies for their classrooms. Subaru has donated an amazing $5,000 to our school. We are so grateful that these teachers will not have to spend their own money to purchase classroom supplies for their students. Thanks to Michelle & Matt Bredemeier for always giving back to our Grand Forks community. You will see in the attached pictures our staff, the teachers selected and the Subaru leadership team! Please help me in saying "thanks" to the Subaru team if you stop by the dealership. Their support of education is noticed and appreciated. Principal - Kevin Ohnstad
Grand Forks Central FBLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California - Trevor L.
Each year, student members of the Grand Forks Central Future Business Leaders of America have a chance to compete in business related events at the State Leadership Conference. If they do well enough, these students earn the opportunity to compete on the national stage. The FBLA National Leadership Conference has over 10,000 students from across the country competing in events ranging from objective tests to performance based events. During the 2024-2025 school year, Central had three students qualify in separate events and were given the opportunity to attend the national conference in Anaheim, California. These three students were very excited for this opportunity, but there was a huge factor in their way, the cost. Each student was responsible for raising $2,165. The three students knew this was a trip they were passionate about so they got to work right away raising money. They thought of Grand Forks Subaru and they called to tell them their story and what was needed. GF Subaru helped defer the cost for our students and helped them make their way to California and to compete at the National Leadership Conference. Thank you Grand Forks Subaru for your donation and commitment to education in the community.
Grand Forks Subaru - A Great Community Partner! - Brenda K.
Grand Forks Subaru has been partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for several years through the Subaru Lover to Care Initiative, blessing blood cancer patients with gifts of soft, warm blankets and messages of hope. Subaru of America and its retailers are committed to positively impacting the communities where they live and work, and have partnered with LLS to send hope, love, and warmth to patients facing cancer. Michelle Bredemeier of Grand Forks Subaru shared why this partnership is meaningful to her stating, “Heather and the whole staff at Altru Cancer Center are amazing human beings for the care and compassion they provide to the patients. Jil and Katie Fiemeyer drove over 3 hours to be part of the presentation of the blankets. Their daughter/sister was a patient at Altru Cancer Center and, unfortunately, passed away a few years ago from the disease. We were impacted by their story of what they went through as a family; it seems like everyone is affected by cancer in some way. I, personally, was able to give blankets to a couple of patients that were present. It brought joy to my heart to see the smiles on their faces when they received their blankets.” The Altru staff also expressed how meaningful it was to have the Fiemeyer family participate in the delivery and their gratitude for the Subaru team for supporting their patients. These partnerships between community partners like Subaru, healthcare workers like the Altru staff and those who are working to support the cure for blood cancer and improve the quality of life of patients are making a real difference for patients!
Grand Forks Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Shellee B.
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Grand Forks, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Grand Forks Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Grand Forks Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/30/2025, Grand Forks Subaru donated 300 coats to United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks & Area. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Drive Your Dreams: Love the Journey - Sara T.
Many organizations and businesses talk about the importance of connection, but few are able to accomplish it to the life-changing level that Grand Forks Subaru has achieved. The Grand Forks Subaru dealership believes in their slogan of love in such a tangible way that it has echoed through the halls of Community Alternative High School, a place filled with students who might need a little extra love and support than their peers. As a teacher at Community, connecting and helping students grow is a major part of what I do each day. When Marilyn Ripplinger and I approached Matt and Michelle Bredemeier with an idea that we thought had the power to impact many students and change the life of at least one, there was no hesitation on their part. Matt and Michelle dove in to support local students because they know what community is built from the ground up. To outsiders, giving away a car may seem like a one-off gift, but for the Subaru Crew, we saw the ripple effect as the plan came into focus. Many students at Community stay local, so we found it surprising that so many students graduated without their driver's license. These students would earn a diploma, but we wondered how successful can someone be without the option of personal transportation. Our goal was to boost the number of students graduating with their license, but we saw an increase in students finding employment, and remaining in good standing-often coming to find myself or Marilyn to update us on how close they were to being qualified to win a car. The student who was eventually selected met multiple criteria: being a high school graduate, having a driver's license, having a job, being in good standing, and being 18. We saw so many students push themselves to improve and qualify for the giveaway before the winner was announced at graduation. The student who won the car, Annika Surface, had this to say: "Winning a car means so much to me. I got my drivers license later than my peers but that was okay with me because at the time my family and I did not have the funds for a car. The car we were eventually able to afford is not reliable and things need fixing constantly. Winning a car now gives me the opportunity to go places and do things I wasn’t able to do before. Having this car brings me confidence in getting myself to places without the worry of something breaking or needing a jump start. This opportunity is something I’ve never thought I would even have the chance of receiving and I appreciate it with all my heart." The tears of gratitude that were shed by Annika and those close to her spoke volumes. We are so lucky to have Grand Forks Subaru in our community because they practice love in action. This wasn't just a gift of a car, for Annika, it was peace of mind, knowing she had reliable transportation as she continues to work and grow in the greater Grand Forks area. For the students who participated this year, this car pushed many to take their driver's license test, many students found employment instead of taking some time off, and many more students who are currently enrolled at Community know that they need to make good choices if they want a shot at the car next year. I am so thankful to Grand Forks Subaru for their excitement, support, generosity, and love this year and am amazed that they plan to continue to partner with our high school to change the lives of our population. For a group of students who don't always have as much support as their peers in the traditional high schools, I can't imagine what it feels like to know that a car dealership is rooting for you and wants you to succeed!
Grand Forks Senior Center - Michelle B.
Thank you, again, Grand Forks Subaru for being so generous! Meals on Wheels is so vital for seniors in our community and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with you locally, as well as Subaru of America. We really are honored that you chose us as a hometown charity when there are so many deserving organizations to pick from, so thank you. Share the Love is such an amazing program and makes such a huge impact on the non-profits involved. We couldn't help all the seniors in need without the community around us and that definitely includes YOU!
Grand Forks Subaru Coat Donation - Nancy O.
Here at United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, & Area we rely on the generosity of our community to be able to provide families in our community with the best resources to help combat important causes like homelessness, childhood hunger. Also every week we brought a featured pet to hang out at the dealership to meet potential adopters and enjoy a social outing. Throughout the event we received some new followers, volunteer and adoption applications. Plus all the wonderful donations and wishlist items collected were able to take care of a lot of high need items. Thank you Grand Forks Subaru!
Subaru Loves Pets Month with COFAS - Arielle T.
Grand Forks Subaru partnered with Circle of Friends Animal Shelter for Subaru Loves Pets month and the Subaru Loves Pets Adoption event. Alongside sponsoring adoption fees for the adoptable animals that were there, they also helped us in preparing to host a microchip clinic to microchip public pets! That's not all that Subaru has done for COFAS this year, they also sponsored the rest of our adoption fees for the month of October to help get pets adopted and into their forever homes. We are so thankful for the partnership we have with Grand Forks Subaru and we look forward to partnering with them in the future again.
Riverside Christian School Applauds Grand Forks Subaru - Sheri M.
Riverside Christian School is grateful to Grand Forks Subaru for their incredible support over the past year & previous years! Their generosity towards our Annual Fall Banquet & Annual Golf Scramble has been invaluable. The mission of Riverside Christian School is to nurture and develop a Christ-centered education that inspires students to excel academically, grow spiritually, and impact their community for Christ. This mission would be much harder to achieve without the unwavering support from community sponsors like Grand Forks Subaru. Their commitment to our cause allows us to create opportunities for our students to thrive in both their faith and education. With over 220 students from Pre-K to Grade 12, Riverside Christian School is dedicated to transforming lives through a well-rounded, Christ-centered education.
